Mafalda Kahane is a curator and creative director based in Vienna, Austria. Her work ranges from the curation of multidisciplinary, site-specific installations and performances to art direction, content creation, and design. She is interested in unconventional collaborations often combining art with other kinds of commerce.

Mafalda is co-founder of the creative house TRIADIC, which specializes in cross-disciplinary collaborations, exploring how art behaves outside of institutional settings. Most notably, TRIADIC co-founded the cross-disciplinary music & art festival FORMAT in Arkansas in 2022, alongside Live Nation; the coffee table book STILL HERE of 100+ pandemic-era still lifes by global creatives; curating Phish's 2024 Mondegreen Festival with a dozen installations for 40,000+ attendees; and currently, being curators-in-residence at The Art House in Mumbai’s Nita & Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center for over four years, producing site specific commissions with a range of established artists that have been visited by over 150,000 people per show. 

Alongside her curatorial endeavors, Mafalda frequently collaborates as a guest designer with various brands and publications. Recent projects include designing capsule collections for labels such as Annina Dirndl and the homeware brand Carolina Irving and Daughters, multiple cover designs for Cultured- and Flair Magazine, graphic design campaigns for Sotheby's, FPM Milano, Vibi Venezia and Fondation Beyeler.

From 2015-2019 she was the in-house Creative Director of C3 Presents’ Artist Management working with emerging and established musical talent on creative identity- ranging from music video direction and stage design to branding and content creation.

Mafalda and her projects have been featured in ArtNet, Artsy, WSJ, Vogue, Wallpaper, Interview Mag, AD USA & India, The New York Observer and Billboard, among others. Her work has been nominated and awarded at festivals such as SXSW, the UKMV As and the LA Music Video Festival.She attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with an MA in Political Sciences. Mafalda founded and chairs the Warburg Institute Visionary Circle and sits on the boards of The Friends of the Vienna Secession, the International Council of MoMA, and the Warburg’s Curatorial Advisory Board.
